Continuing Education Renewal Activities
IntelliCademy™ allows certificants to renew through a variety of professional development activities that demonstrate continued growth, relevance, and ongoing engagement in the field. Each activity category has specific CEU values, submission requirements, and maximum allowable credits within a three-year renewal cycle.
Submitting Completed Renewal Activities:
Manual Submission Requirements: All continuing education activities must be submitted directly to the registrar at registrar@intellicademy.ai in order to be reviewed and applied toward your renewal requirements.
Automatic Renewal Activities: Certain accomplishments are processed automatically and do not require a separate CEU submission. IntelliCademy will automatically renew your certification when you complete one of the following:
- Pass the current version of your IntelliCademy exam
- Earn an eligible higher-level IntelliCademy certification
IT Industry Participation
Teach or Mentor
CEUs Available
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 10 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 15 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
All teaching or mentoring must take place during the active three-year renewal cycle. The same content may only be submitted once during that cycle. At least 50% of the material taught or mentored must align to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: For teaching, submit a lesson plan or syllabus showing your name as instructor, a description of the material covered, and the date the course was taught. For mentoring, submit the content objectives tied to the certification exam, a summary of the material covered, the dates and duration of mentoring, and a signed statement from the mentee confirming the mentoring dates and times.
Create Instructional Materials
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 10 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 15 CEUs.
Renewal Requirements
Instructional materials must be created during the current three-year renewal cycle. The same materials may only be submitted once. At least 50% of the content must align with one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a lesson plan or syllabus listing your name as author, a copy of the instructional materials, and the date the materials were created.
Publishing and Thought Leadership
Publish a Relevant Industry Article or White Paper
CEUs Available
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 8 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 12 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The article or white paper must be written and published during the current renewal cycle. At least 50% of the content must relate to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit the URL or a copy of the published work showing your name and publication date, along with a brief description of the subject matter covered.
Publish a Book
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 15 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 20 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The book must be written and published during the current renewal cycle. At least 50% of the content must align to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a link to the webpage where the book is published, listed, or available for purchase.
Publish a Blog Post
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 8 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 12 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
Blog content must be written and published during the active renewal cycle. At least 50% of the content must relate to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit the URL or a copy of the published post showing your name and publication date, along with a description of the content covered
Training and Higher Education
Attend a Live Webinar
CEUs Available
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 4 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 6 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The webinar must be attended during the current three-year renewal cycle. At least 50% of the webinar content must align with one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a detailed description or outline of the webinar content and either a completion certificate or registration email showing your name, webinar title, webinar date, and number of hours attended. On-demand webinars and YouTube-based training are only eligible when proof of registration or a completion certificate is available.
Attend a Conference Session
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 4 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 6 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
Conference attendance must occur during the current renewal cycle. At least 50% of the session content must relate to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a detailed description or outline of the session content and either a completion certificate or registration email showing your name, session title, session date, and number of hours attended.
Complete a Training Course
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 20 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 30 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The course must be completed during the current three-year renewal cycle, and the same course may only be submitted once. At least 50% of the course content must align to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a detailed course description or outline and a completion certificate that includes your name, course title, training provider, completion date, and number of hours. IntelliCademy preapproves select, widely recognized industry training programs, but other qualifying training may also be accepted if the relevance requirement is met.
Complete a College Course

Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 10 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 20 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The course must be completed during the active renewal cycle. At least 50% of the course content must relate to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a detailed course description or outline and an official transcript showing your name, institution name, course title, semester or completion term, and number of credit hours earned.
Complete an ACE-Approved Course
CEUs
Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 10 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 20 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
The ACE-approved course must be completed during the active renewal cycle. At least 50% of the course content must align with one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a detailed course description or outline and an official transcript showing your name, course title, completion term or date, and number of credit hours earned.
Related Work Experience
Work Experience

Maximum allowed per 3-year cycle:
- AI Transformation Leader: 9 CEUs
- AI/ML Specialist: 9 CEUs
Renewal Requirements
Work experience must take place during the current three-year renewal cycle. At least 50% of the work performed must relate to one or more exam objectives for the certification being renewed.
Documentation required: Submit a letter from your employer on company letterhead that includes your name, current job title, the CE year for which work experience is being claimed, a summary of duties performed, and your supervisor’s signature. Work orders, performance reports, and resumes are not accepted as supporting documentation.
Recertification Application Review Process
1. Purpose
This process defines the structured review and decision-making procedure for recertification applications to ensure continued competence of certificants and compliance with ISO/IEC 17024 requirements.
2. Scope
This process applies to all individuals seeking recertification of an IntelliCademy certification credential upon expiration of the three-year certification cycle.
3. Responsibilities
Candidate Review Board (CRB)
The Candidate Review Board is responsible for:
- Reviewing all recertification applications and supporting documentation
- Verifying eligibility requirements, including CEUs and qualifying activities
- Ensuring impartial, consistent, and evidence-based evaluations
- Making the final decision regarding recertification
- Receives and logs recertification applications
- Performs administrative completeness check
- Prepares application packages for CRB review
- Communicates outcomes to candidates
4. Recertification Application Review Workflow
Step 1: Application Submission
Candidates submit their recertification application through the IntelliCademy certification portal, including:
- Completed renewal application
- CEU activity documentation
- Proof of qualifying achievements (if applicable)
- Payment of applicable renewal fees
All submissions must align with the approved renewal pathways outlined in the Continuing Education Program
Step 2: Administrative Completeness Review
The Registrar conducts an initial review to confirm:
- All required fields are completed
- Supporting documentation is provided
- CEU claims are clearly documented
- Fees are paid (if applicable)
Outcome:
- Complete → forwarded to Candidate Review Board
- Incomplete → returned to candidate with request for additional information
Step 3: Assignment to Candidate Review Board
- Applications are assigned to a minimum of two (2) qualified CRB members
- Reviewers must have no conflict of interestwith the candidate
- Any identified conflicts require reassignment
Step 4: Technical Review of Application
The Candidate Review Board evaluates the application against the following criteria:
4.1 CEU Verification
- Total CEUs meet or exceed required thresholds
- Activities fall within approved categories
- Activities occurred within the valid 3-year certification cycle
- CEU limits per category are not exceeded
4.2 Relevance to Certification Scheme
- At least 50% of submitted activities align with exam objectives
- Activities demonstrate continued competence in the certified role
4.3 Documentation Validation
- Documentation meets stated requirements (certificates, transcripts, employer letters, publications, etc.)
- Evidence is authentic, verifiable, and attributable to the candidate
4.4 Alternative Renewal Pathways (if applicable)
- Verification of qualifying certification earned
- Verification of exam retake or higher-level credential
Step 5: Evaluation Outcome Determination
Each CRB reviewer independently records one of the following determinations:
- Approve– All requirements met
- Request Additional Information– Minor gaps or clarifications required
- Deny– Requirements not met
Step 6: Consensus and Final Decision
- If both reviewers agree → decision is finalized
- If disagreement occurs →
- A third CRB member is assigned
- Majority decision determines outcome
The Candidate Review Board holds final authority for recertification decisions.
Step 7: Documentation of Decision
The following is recorded and maintained:
- Reviewer names and qualifications
- Conflict of interest confirmations
- Evaluation notes and justification
- Final decision outcome
- Date of decision
All records are retained in accordance with certification record retention policies.
Step 8: Notification to Candidate
The Registrar communicates the outcome to the candidate:
Approval:
- Certification renewed for a new three-year cycle
- Updated credential issued
Request for Additional Information:
- Candidate given defined timeframe (e.g., 15 days) to respond
Denial:
- Written explanation provided
- Information on appeals process included
5. Impartiality and Confidentiality
- All CRB members must sign conflict of interest and confidentiality agreements
- Individuals involved in training or prior evaluation of the candidate are prohibited from participating in the review
- All decisions are made independently and free from undue influence
6. Appeals
Candidates may appeal recertification decisions in accordance with the established Appeals Policy. Appeals are reviewed by an independent Appeals Board with no involvement in the original decision.
7. Records and Audit Trail
The certification body maintains a complete audit trail including:
- Application materials
- Review documentation
- Decision records
- Communication logs
These records serve as objective evidence of a consistent and fair recertification review process.
Important Notice: All continuing education activities, CEU values, and renewal requirements are subject to change at IntelliCademy’s discretion and may be updated without advance notice. Activities already submitted and accepted into a certificant’s record before publication of a revised CE activity chart will remain valid as previously awarded.
